The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, also known as the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, is one of Nepal’s most iconic trekking routes, offering an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Annapurna massif. Surrounded by some of the world’s highest peaks, the sanctuary is a natural amphitheater enclosed by Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Gangapurna.

The trek passes through terraced farmlands, lush rhododendron forests, and traditional Gurung and Magar villages, providing rich cultural experiences alongside spectacular mountain scenery. As the trail ascends, the landscape gradually transforms into high alpine terrain, culminating at Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters.

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, the remainder of the day is free to rest and recover from your international journey. A short briefing may be conducted in the evening to outline the trek.

 

Day 01

Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (822m)

After breakfast, you take a scenic domestic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, offering spectacular views of the Himalayan range. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel near Phewa Lake. The rest of the day is free to relax, explore Pokhara, or prepare for the trek.

Day 03

Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Ghandruk (1,950m)

After an early breakfast, drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, the starting point of the trek. From Nayapul, the trail ascends through terraced farmland and traditional villages to Ghandruk, one of the most beautiful Gurung villages in the Annapurna region. Ghandruk offers stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail).

Day 04

Trek from Ghandruk to Chomrong (2,200m)

Today’s trek begins with a gradual ascent through forests and stone staircases, passing small settlements along the way. The trail offers impressive views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre before reaching Chomrong, the last major village on the route to Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 05

Trek from Chomrong to Bamboo (2,310m)

The trail descends steeply to the Chomrong Khola before climbing again through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests. The environment becomes cooler and more shaded as you reach Bamboo, a small settlement nestled in the forest.

Day 06

Trek from Bamboo to Deurali (3,200m)

Today’s trek continues through lush forests and narrow valleys, passing Dovan and Himalaya Hotel. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes more alpine, with waterfalls and towering cliffs lining the trail. You arrive at Deurali, located just below the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Day 07

Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m)

The highlight day of the trek. The trail ascends gently through the Machhapuchhre Base Camp area before entering the Annapurna Sanctuary — a natural amphitheater surrounded by towering peaks. Upon reaching Annapurna Base Camp, you are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp under a star-filled sky.

Day 08

Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2,310m)

After witnessing a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna range, you begin the descent. The trail retraces the route back through Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Deurali to Bamboo. Descending to lower altitude brings warmer air and increased comfort.

Day 09

Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,780m)

The trek continues downhill through forested trails to Jhinu Danda. In the afternoon, you may visit the nearby natural hot springs, a perfect way to relax tired muscles after several days of trekking.

Day 10

Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara (822m)

After breakfast, trek downhill to Nayapul, passing villages and terraced fields. From Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening by Phewa Lake.

Day 11

Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,400m)

A short scenic flight returns you to Kathmandu. After hotel transfer, the remainder of the day is free for sightseeing, souvenir shopping, or relaxation. A farewell dinner may be arranged in the evening.

Day 12

Final Departure

You will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your international departure, concluding your Annapurna Sanctuary Trek.
