The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the world’s most iconic trekking adventures, offering an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Khumbu region to the foot of the world’s highest mountain. This classic Himalayan trek blends breathtaking mountain scenery, rich Sherpa culture, and an incredible sense of achievement.

Beginning in Kathmandu, the adventure continues with a scenic flight to Lukla before trekking through charming mountain villages such as Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Dingboche, and Lobuche. Carefully planned acclimatization days allow trekkers to adjust to altitude while enjoying stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Nuptse.

The highlight of the journey is the hike to Kala Patthar for sunrise views over Mount Everest, followed by a visit to Everest Base Camp itself—an inspiring destination surrounded by towering peaks and glaciers. 17 Days • Itinerary Overview

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, where our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, you can rest or explore the nearby area. In the evening, a short briefing about the trek will be provided.

Day 02

Kathmandu Sightseeing (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)

Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Final trek preparations and equipment checks will be completed.

Day 03

Fly to Lukla (2,845 m / 9,334 ft) & Trek to Phakding (2,610 m / 8,563 ft)

An early morning scenic flight takes you to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Begin your trek through Sherpa villages and pine forests, following the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding.

Day 04

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft)

Trek through beautiful forests and cross several suspension bridges. After entering Sagarmatha National Park, a final steep ascent leads to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant trading hub of the Khumbu region.

Day 05

Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft)

A rest and acclimatization day to help your body adjust to altitude. Optional hikes include a visit to the Everest View Hotel or nearby villages such as Khumjung, offering your first panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks.

Day 06

Trek to Deboche (3,820 m / 12,533 ft)

Continue trekking through rhododendron forests with stunning views of Ama Dablam, Everest, and Lhotse. Pass through Tengboche Monastery before descending slightly to the peaceful village of Deboche.

Day 07

Trek to Dingboche (4,410 m / 14,469 ft)

The trail ascends gradually through alpine landscapes. Enjoy impressive views of Ama Dablam as you enter the Imja Valley and reach Dingboche, surrounded by stone-walled fields and dramatic Himalayan scenery.

Day 08

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche (4,410 m / 14,469 ft)

Another important acclimatization day. Optional hikes to Nagarjun Hill or nearby ridges offer breathtaking views of Makalu, Lhotse, and Cholatse while aiding altitude adaptation.

Day 09

Trek to Lobuche (4,940 m / 16,207 ft)

Trek past the Thukla Pass, where memorials honor climbers who lost their lives on Everest. Continue along the glacial moraine to reach Lobuche, set beneath towering Himalayan peaks.

Day 10

Trek to Gorak Shep (5,164 m / 16,942 ft) & Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545 m / 18,192 ft)

Trek alongside the Khumbu Glacier to Gorak Shep. Later, hike up Kala Patthar for one of the best viewpoints of Mount Everest, Nuptse, and the surrounding icefalls before returning to Gorak Shep.

Day 11

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m / 17,598 ft) & Return to Lobuche (4,940 m / 16,207 ft)

Walk along the glacier to reach Everest Base Camp, the starting point for summit expeditions. After exploring and taking photos, trek back to Lobuche for overnight rest.

Day 12

Trek to Deboche (3,820 m / 12,533 ft)

Begin the descent, enjoying easier breathing as you retrace your route through Pangboche and alpine forests back to Deboche.

Day 13

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft)

Continue descending through familiar trails, crossing suspension bridges and enjoying final mountain views before reaching Namche Bazaar.

Day 14

Trek to Lukla (2,845 m / 9,334 ft)

Your final trekking day follows the Dudh Koshi River back to Lukla. Celebrate the completion of your Everest Base Camp adventure with your trekking team.

Day 15

Fly Back to Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)

Take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy a well-earned rest or explore the city.

Day 16

Free Day in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)

A leisure day for shopping, sightseeing, or relaxing. Optional farewell dinner can be arranged in the evening.

Day 17

Departure from Kathmandu

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward international departure.

Extra information you may need:

1. A HAD representative will be there to welcome you upon arrival at the airport.
2. Direct flights between Kathmandu and Lukla are not available, so travel must be
routed through Ramechhap.
3. Kathmandu to Ramechhap is approximately a 3 hour drive.
NOTE: If you prefer to fly directly between Kathmandu and Lukla, additional helicopter fees
will apply.
