Overview

The Ghorepani – Ghandruk via Dhampus Trek is a classic trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and moderate trekking adventure. This trail is famous for panoramic Himalayan views, traditional Gurung and Magar villages, and lush rhododendron forests.

Trekkers begin their journey with a scenic ascent to Ghorepani, a picturesque village at 2,874 meters, known for its spectacular sunrise views from Poon Hill 3,210 meters (10,532 feet). From Ghorepani, the trail winds through terraced farmlands, forested ridges, and traditional villages like Tadapani, Landruk, and Ghandruk, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in local culture and hospitality.

The trek concludes with a visit to Dhampus, a serene village offering stunning mountain vistas, before returning to Pokhara. Suitable for beginners and moderately experienced trekkers, this 7–10 day trek combines scenic landscapes, cultural encounters, and enjoyable trekking distances, making it one of the most accessible and rewarding short treks in the Annapurna region.

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. Our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can rest or take a short walk around the local area. Overnight in Kathmandu.

 

 

Day 02

Sightseeing in Kathmandu (1,400 m)

After breakfast, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s cultural heritage. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Pashupatinath Temple. In the evening, return to the hotel and prepare for your flight to Pokhara the next day. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03

Fly to Pokhara (822 m)

Take an early morning domestic flight to Pokhara, known for its serene lakes and stunning Himalayan views. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. You can explore Lakeside, enjoy boating on Phewa Lake, or visit the World Peace Pagoda. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 04

Drive to Ulleri and Trek to Ghorepani (2,874 m)

Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and begin your trek. Today’s trek starts with a scenic trail through small villages and lush forests. Ascend to Ulleri and continue through terraced fields to Ghorepani. Enjoy panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges along the way. Overnight in Ghorepani.

Day 05

Trek to Tadapani (2,630 m)

Wake up early to hike to Poon Hill for a breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. After sunrise, descend to Ghorepani for breakfast, then trek through rhododendron forests and charming villages to reach Tadapani. Enjoy the tranquil mountain surroundings. Overnight in Tadapani.

Day 06

Trek to Landruk (1,565 m) via Ghandruk (2,012 m)

Descend from Tadapani and trek to the traditional Gurung village of Ghandruk, known for its stone houses and cultural heritage. Continue the trek through forests and terraced fields to Landruk. This village offers beautiful views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Overnight in Landruk.

Day 07

Trek to Dhampus (1,650 m) & Drive to Pokhara (822 m)

Today’s trek is shorter and pleasant, passing through lush forests and small villages to Dhampus. From here, drive back to Pokhara. Spend the evening at leisure in Lakeside, exploring local markets or relaxing by the lake. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 08

Leisure in Pokhara (Optional Activities)

You may choose to explore more of Pokhara, go boating, or try adventure activities like paragliding. This day is flexible for relaxation or sightseeing. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 09

Fly back to Kathmandu (1,400 m)

Take a morning flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. You may use the afternoon for souvenir shopping or exploring Thamel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 10

Final Departure

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. Depart with unforgettable memories of the Annapurna region.
