Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, the remainder of the day is free to rest and recover from international travel. A short welcome briefing may be held in the evening to introduce the expedition schedule.

 

Day 02

Sightseeing and Expedition Preparation in Kathmandu (1,400m)

This day is dedicated to cultural sightseeing and expedition preparation. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath. Meanwhile, the expedition team will complete permit processing and conduct a thorough gear inspection. A detailed briefing will be held to explain climbing techniques, safety procedures, and the overall itinerary.

Day 03

Fly to Lukla (2,845m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

An early morning scenic flight takes you to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After meeting the trekking and climbing crew, the trek begins with a gentle walk along the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding. This short trek helps initiate acclimatization.

Day 04

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Today’s trek follows the river valley through pine forests and across several suspension bridges before entering Sagarmatha National Park. A steady uphill climb brings you to Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa town and commercial center of the Khumbu region.

Day 05

Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

A full rest and acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. You will take an optional hike to Everest View Hotel or Syangboche Airstrip for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The afternoon is reserved for rest, hydration, and final gear adjustments.

Day 06

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Deboche (3,770m)

The trail continues along a scenic contour path above the Dudh Koshi Valley with breathtaking mountain views. After descending to Phunki Tenga, the route climbs through rhododendron forests to Deboche, located near the renowned Tengboche Monastery. The setting offers magnificent views of Ama Dablam.

Day 07

Trek from Deboche to Dingboche (4,410m)

Leaving the tree line behind, the trek follows the Imja Valley through Pangboche village before gradually ascending to Dingboche. The landscape becomes increasingly alpine, with wide valleys and stone-walled fields surrounded by towering peaks.

Day 08

Acclimatization Day in Dingboche (4,410m)

This rest day is essential for altitude adaptation. You may hike to nearby ridges such as Nangkartshang Peak for acclimatization and views of Lhotse, Makalu, and Ama Dablam. The remainder of the day is spent resting and preparing for higher elevations.

Day 09

Trek from Dingboche to Chhukung (4,750m)

The trail leads east along the Imja Khola valley toward Chhukung. The walk is relatively short but gains altitude steadily. Upon arrival, the afternoon is free for rest and final preparation for the climb.

Day 10

Trek from Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp (5,100m) or High Camp (5,500m)

Today you trek to Island Peak Base Camp. Depending on conditions, group strength, and weather, the team may continue to High Camp to shorten summit day. Upon arrival, climbers receive technical training on fixed ropes, crampon use, ice axe techniques, and safety procedures.

Day 11

Contingency and Preparation Day

This day is reserved for acclimatization, additional technical training, or weather delays. Having a contingency day significantly improves summit success and ensures safety in the high-altitude environment.

Day 12

Summit Island Peak (6,165m) and Descend to Chhukung (4,750m)

An early alpine start leads climbers up snow slopes and along fixed ropes to the summit ridge. The final ascent involves a steep headwall requiring careful technique. From the summit of Island Peak, climbers are rewarded with stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Baruntse, and the surrounding Himalayan giants. After the summit, the team descends carefully back to Chhukung for overnight rest.

Day 13

Trek from Chhukung to Deboche (3,770m)

The descent continues through Dingboche and Pangboche villages before reaching Deboche. Returning to lower altitude provides noticeable comfort and recovery.

Day 14

Trek from Deboche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

The trail retraces its route past Tengboche Monastery and through forested ridgelines back to Namche Bazaar. Enjoy warm showers, bakeries, and comfortable lodges after days at high altitude.

Day 15

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,845m)

The final trekking day follows the Dudh Koshi River downhill to Lukla. In the evening, a farewell celebration with the trekking and climbing crew marks the successful completion of the expedition.

Day 16

Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,400m)

A morning flight brings you back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for rest, shopping, or enjoying local restaurants.

Day 17

Free Day in Kathmandu (1,400m)

This day is reserved for leisure, sightseeing, souvenir shopping, or as a buffer in case of flight delays from Lukla. A farewell dinner may be organized in the evening.

Day 18

Final Departure

You will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your international departure, concluding your Island Peak Expedition.

Island Peak climbing requires multiple official permits:

  • Island Peak Climbing Permit (NMA – Nepal Mountaineering Association). Seasonal fee varies (higher in spring/autumn).
  • Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit (required for entry into the Everest region).
  • Pasang Lhamu / Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit (local government fee).
  • Climbing permit processing and liaison services handled by the operator.

Note: A garbage deposit fee may be required by NMA (refundable upon return with compliance).
